originating from my nascent attempts at production and tracking, this musical dyad comprises two songs that thematically bookend a spectrum of attitudes towards knowledge and vulnerability, ranging from ineffable warmth and attraction to intense aversion and paranoia, conveyed as encounters with solar radiation and its provenance. the titles of each composition and their joint designation reflect this, being derivatives of ancient greek terms for the daystar, its associated deity, and the twin emotions, affinity and dread - both children of difference.
helion is a neuter form of helios, the olympian sun god.
heliophobia means “fear of sunlight.”
heliophilia means “lover of sunlight.”
